The characteristics of a web2.0 site are:
"Network as platform" - delivering (and allowing users to use) applications entirely
through a web-browser
Users owning the data on the site and exercising control over that data.
An architecture of participation and democracy that encourages users to add value to
the application as they use it.
A rich, interactive, user-friendly interface based on Ajax.
Some social-networking aspects.
I am going to do an experiment - open source my life. Apply the attributes of web2.0
to my life. See what happens when a community of users has control over a person in
the "real world". I graduate with a BCom in August of 2007, and am ebarking on a
year long round-the-world trip. Until then I will slowly transition control of my
life over to the website. Sounds pretty intense, doesn't it?
